If your training life and nutrition is in tatters then you may need a little help sorting it out. So often I see clients going from one extreme to another with either eating heavily during binge sessions when their expectations of their training/exercise results are too high, or exercising to the extreme for a couple of weeks, while starving themselves then running themselves to the ground. As a trainer I do try to encourage balance - getting your exercise in, and eating exceptionally well during the week and moderately healthly over the weekend - moderately meaning adding a few more carbs and good treats to enjoy with the family when the need arises and enjoy social outings and family things. Unless you are in competition you definately not need to do two sessions per day - every day, nor do you need to starve yourself.
A nice balance is a 3-4 day split weights programme/group exercise and 3-4 cardio sessions per week. Cardio sessions should be over 30 mins and training approx 1 hour. Balance that with 5 small meals per day, drip feeding your body with protein, carbs and fat and success will be just around the corner. Just remember the more extreme you exercise, & the more extreme you diet, the higher your chances of failure are.
