Well 1 week later I finally get around to doing my update.  Sorry about that team. I know you have been waiting to hear what I have to say on my comp.

Im going to give you a brief rundown.   The week of the decarb I had a couple of totally low energy days. Im sorry to say I struggled at work but still worked and I have said thank you to all my clients for perservering with me. I wasnt grumpy but exceptionally tired.  For me personally, when decarbing I dont even feel like eating.  I was starving but the food does not stimilate the appretite so I was forcing myself to eat each meal which was mostly chicken - dry chicken lol.  I dont have alot of veges at this stage of my diet, well none really cos my body just doesnt handle them very well without carbs so I tend to just stick to my protein. so there is definately nothing exciting about that.

On the Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday  I was still having protein shakes, plus my chicken meals - thank god for protein shakes.  Then on the Thursday I added in my cashew nuts, unsalted + unroasted and also my flax seed oil,  stayed on chicken with the odd omelette and removed the protein shakes as I was down to 2 litres and 1 litres of water.  I was virtually taking my water allowance in black coffees as I am such an addict.  Bees diet was almost the same as mine but he had bigger servings of nuts and flaxseed......  I would scoff mine down and then watch him eat his with puppy dog eyes..  He always saves his fav food to eat till last where as I devour mine in a few seconds..lol
We stayed with the chicken and nuts etc for all of Thursday and Friday then Friday we had our first kumara..... It was heaven I tell you.  I must tell you that once I added the cashews and flax seed into my diet I had energy for everybody.  From that day until after the contest I was hyped, energetic and felt indestructable really.  I was in good head space.   Whereas I was hypo, cleaning and sorting the house etc,  the flax seed and nuts made no difference to Bee's energy levels and he was tired right up till mid Saturday afternoon...  I was getting abit worried about him but his body was changing and looking ripped so I was concerned with how he would look.

We spent Saturday going out and buying some treats and just having a nice time as all the work had been done and just tanning to complete.   For the first time in all my competitive years I slept like a baby pre contest night.   I woke once for a loo trip but other than that I didnt suffer the "laying in bed sleepless" like I normally do.  Everything just seem to  breeze by this competition.  Woke up in the morning looking and feeling good and my Teresa and Olivia, make up artist and hairdresser came to pretty me up abit.  They did a good job

We set off to the event and it was a gorgeous day.  Takapuna was buzzing. Walking to the venue there were people everywhere having breakfast at outside cafes which we were craving.  I was quite envious and thought once or twice about grabbing food off their plates lol.  Anyway to give you a brief rundown, the event was awesome.  We lazed around out the back for hours and hours talking with the competitors and grazing like we competitors do on contest day.  Did some filming with 20/20 about excessive dieting and that was interesting.  Will let you know when that is being aired.  Bee was on-stage  before me so I had the brilliant  job of tanning him ( Lucky me aye).  He was looking brilliant but unfortunately he was in a class of 4 which was a height class and he eneded up being the smallest of the class - the best and the sexiest in my eyes though. His routine was sexy. He said he was doing his  routine for me and it was gorgeous.  He placed 4th and he was gutted of course  but he has that personality that just gets on with things and he now has new goals set.

My class, well that was fun.  Of course there was me and Kaye ONeill who has been a friend for many years.  Kaye and I have always gotten on and in fact Kaye lived with us for a short time many years ago.  We both had good humour with each other so it wasnt a nasty competition  between us.  It was very much fun. Actually if I had lost, then I would of been pleased to go down to Kaye. She was competing when I first came onto the scene back in 1992 and I have always looked up to her.   We had fun on the day of the competition including having a glass of champas on stage and toasting rather than having a full 2 min pose down.  We also had another girl with us,  a novice competitor I think who had an awesome personality.  She was adament she was going to give us a run for our money...   Was such a fun comp.

When it was done and dusted, I went downhill pretty fast.  When we walked out of the venue I said to Bee I felt like I could sit down and cry for half an hour or so.  I just felt like I had given that competition every single bit of me and was totally done.  I had won but the relief was amazing and the exhaustion afterwards was undescribeable.  I used to get like that overseas to after my major international competitions.  Instead of celebrating I just want to curl up into bed and sleep like a baby for months. We picked up some food on the way home. Bee brought himself a whole hanging Peking Duck.. I wish I had taken a photo but was too tired. lol.  Jordie and I helped him eat a little of it but he enjoyed it.  He had been talking about it for awhile.
Next day was our day off together and a nice meal.  Once again didnt get to eat too much.   too tired and not that hungry after carbing up.  And here I am a week later decarbing once again to get into good condition to guest pose at Nelson this weekend.

But I shall write more about that later on.
