Jo has been working and competing in the fitness industry for almost 20 years. Her early interest in the sport of bodybuilding sparked a desire to enter into the gym industry. This led to a successful career in private training (specialising in weight training and nutrition), earning her a reputation as one of New Zealand’s most popular female bodybuilders and trainers.
After joining the highly competitive world of bodybuilding in 1992, Jo has had a chain of national and international successes which span nearly 20 years. In 2007 and 2008 she entered, participated in and won two of the biggest IFBB contests won by any female competitor in New Zealand: the IFBB Masters Worlds in Budapest and the IFBB Arnold Amateur in Ohio.
Currently Jo is devoted to training towards another competition in August. She plans to stand on stage at 50 years of age to inspire and tempt women above 40 to take up weight training, and to encourage them to learn about basic nutrition and how to combine training and nutrition into a healthier life.
Currently working at Wolfs Gym Auckland Jo instructs members and non-members on all aspects of fitness and body-sculpting techniques. Online tuition is also very popular where Jo specialises in home or gym exercise programming, nutrition and weekly on-going nutrition support. In this new age where even the gym is "2.0", Jo now also conducts training and consultation sessions over Skype!
