What a blast tonight. I took my girls for the Fizzing Fit Stadium Bootcamp this evening. It was our first one. I had 15 booked in for the 5 weeks and had 12 of them there this evening. We started off very gentle walking around the gorgeous red racing track until the group was all there. The girls chatted and got to know each other in a bunch while walking around and each new arrival would have to jog the track to join the group. The girls at the start all had to perform a push up test which I recorded so we could repeat it in weeks to come so they can see their improvement in strength. They also ran the track as fast as they could and although untimed, they all know how they performed and how they felt at the end of it. 3 of the fittest and first 3 around obviously got a second lap. I had to work around the fittest of them and the beginners. There were 3 girls there with 7 month old babies so they are getting their fitness levels back. The girls did heaps of mountain climbers with the hand rails for support and I could tell that pretth knocked the stuffing out of them. although very hard cardiovasular wise, it warmed their joints for the impact they were going to have during the whole hour.. I matched the girls as best I could without knowing them all so they were partners with someone of similar fitness and it worked out very well I think...
Now what else did we do? After the track racing and press ups, we did sprints up the stairs 2 people at a time, while the rest of the group were waiting their turms they did high knee jogging and star jumps etc...... we also went upstairs to the car park where they had awesome wooden benches which were perfect for the partnered step ups, side steps ups and reverse lunges. I was tempted to make them do bunny hops over the benches but they were a little wide to be comfortable.
We did a jacknife test ( or straight abdominal crunchies for the new mums) and then into bridging which was very hard. 4 counts up, 4 counts hold, 4 counts down, 4 counts hold at the bottom..... we then went onto the track again and did partner sprints, single leg lunges up the steps 4 times,, then lunges on the track with a jump ( phrew hard work) then land crab races. that was a sight but the girls were awesome.. I think that was about it. We finished with a final jog around the track, a stretch then home to die a peaceful death. I loved taking the girls.. I couldnt do any of it as I keep on pulling my calf muscle. I had it strapped and managed to sprit half up the stairs and abit of jogging for demo but it was seriouisly sore this evening.
I am full up for bookings for the next 4 weeks but I am going to run another one starting earlier on a sunday night beginning april so write to me if you wish to join in the next group.
Apart from the boot camp I have a new apartment which I move in to 2 weeks time.. I love it so much. It is the place I have wanted to live in for so long, and is just perfect. Even the garage has storage room which is perfect for my two older kids things that I am keeping for them and for my sunbed room also so I now longer have to get rid of my sunbed. Im loving knowing Im in the heart of Henderson, not quite the city - but I have everything I love around me.
I have 2 muscle weekends booked in now, so the March and May booking have gone now. If you wish a muscle weekend in April or June then drop me a line and I can get you booked in my new place. God it is so exciting. Well Im off to bed.
It is very boring not having pics to put up but Camera House West City have not fixed my camera yet despite me talking to Mr Hanifin himself and he promising he would get back to me on Friday ( last ) about it. I had the new Zx1 which I raved about previously on here and facebook, but it did not live up to its promise, or the managers promise, as being the best camera for what I wanted, and one of the switches gave up the dust afte only 8-9 weeks use. We shall see how many weeks it takes for them to come back to me regarding this.
Anyway, hoping everyone is training hard.. Ive been training hard out.. Got a busy client week this week which is awesome, then there are changes in store for me.
Be good, train hard and look out for Monty and Helens new blogs soon. They should be interesting.

What an odd week or so since I last wrote.. There are some exciting things in the pipeline for me now so life has gone from being abit dismal to being very very exciting, but I cant say alot at the moment. All I can say is my career is about to take off. I am very fortunate to love the job as I have as a trainer. It never bores me, although it can get mentally tiring of course, but I love what I do, I love working with people who love my sport as much as I do. and love to see the changes physically and mentally in my clients. . In a few weeks I will begin something which is going to change my life and Im looking so forward to the challenge of it. Looking at it now, it can hardly be seen as a challenge, it is more like a gift to me.. Im going to be amongst the most positive people and oh I just feel so lucky.. So anyway I will tell you more next week.
I am teaching a pump class on Tuesday and Im really really excited about this opportunity to be front of a room full of people who I have never seen before and they probably have never seen me. . A little bit nervous as I normally have a really high fitness level but I haven't ran or done any cardio for 3 weeks as I kept pulling a calf muscle. Mmmmph I have 4 days to get my fitness up. Almost impossible really...
Ok exciting thing NO. 2 ..
Well I advertised a boot camp at the stadium on Sunday night. Kirsty and I talked about doing it then I thought oh why not advertise it and try to do this properly.... So I have 11 girls confirmed now and a couple of more unconfirmed. I have some brilliant things organised and Amanda Foubister came around today with a dvd full of ideas for me to incorporate. I think the first week will be pretty hard for the girls, but nothing too complicated and it will progressively get harder each week.
Now the 3rd thing Im excited about is I have a gorgeous apartment lined up... I have looked at these places for years and always loved them.. Jordie loves the area and the best thing about it is that it is right across from Corbans Estate Art Centre, which is the historic Corbans winery. It is now home to artists of every type. It holds events and festivals and the Historic Homestead will just be a gorgeous place to walk around and visit whenever. Hopefully, fingers crossed it will be mine and I can move in a few weeks... I feel such a good vibe about this apartment.. Please please let me be the one who gets it!!!! The agent is really cool and co-operative so fingers crossed.
Well I have more news next week for you. Training has been brilliant this week. Eating has been very clean but Im not eating enough food, my appretite is still not back to normal but I am taking my supps faithfully and having more protein powder than anything. Im offseason obviously again so here is what my diet is like right now most days, well 6.5 days of the week
Breakfast 6.30 oats & BSc caramel Hydroxy burn protein powder
Morning Tea - protein drink with water only
Lunch 1 average kumara, 1 x 185 can salmon, mustard and tomato sauce ( yum) tomato etc...
Afternoon tea - protein drink with water only or 5-6 eggs and protein powder
Dinner - steak, chicken breast, omellete or canned salmon with salad or veges
Supper: protein shake again or hard boiled eggs....

My current supps, BSc Trianabol, Multi Vits, BCAA's., CardioActive (co enzymes) and Regenerate for joints..
*** My carbs are still very low ( I function better on low carbs) which is easy to stick to cos I just dont buy them.
and I had given up alchohol weeks ago in preparation for my New York event so I havent had any apart from a wine with my sister 2 weeks ago. I feel much better not having any.

Trying to stay lean when the motivation is gone is hard.. I think Im one of the lucky ones.. When I go through bad times I tend to not eat - which is a very different Jo of years ago when I would binge at any excuse, any upset. Now it is a case of making myself eat. I never inherited my mothers great boobs or her lean lower body, but I think I have gotten more like her as I get older which causes me to go off food quite easily. And so that is where I am now - abit down in luck, down in mind and down in general. Im so lucky I have about 6 more buckets of protein powder left here cos I am drinking the caramel powder more than I am eating. Thank you Bsc again for my sponsorship. I dont know where I would be without you.
Things have changed for me.. situations have changed and now I have to come to terms with a few things over the next few weeks and that is that I will not be competing this year, or probably any other year. I am no longer with Mark - I hear you saying oh god here we go again, but yeah that is how it is now. We were having such a good time really and something shattered it & everything else with it.
So it just doesnt make any sense at all even trying to compete - not that I need him as I competed very well in the past before we got together ... but to compete as a Pro you need everything sorted in your life. I've always been the first to say to my clients that to compete successfully you must have everything on your side... health, love life, work situation, finanacial situation etc etc.. concerns with any one of those things can seriously effect your day to day life which in turn affects your progress when preparing for competition.
So in a nutshell, my life was and still is, in turmoil. I have been training with an awesome girl this week - thank you again Jen, and hopefully lock in with one of the guys next week so I can still train hard. Realistically I cannot put in the hours of training for a Pro contest without it affecting me financially as I have no longer have a partner to fall back on - and I cannot currently survive financially without working the hours that I am currently needing to do. This is not all about finances only - I know alot of single bodybuilders, well most of them are probably single, but the ones who have partners rely heavily on the personal support, the mental support and that somebody to take care of the little things that seem trivial but mean alot to the busy, tired hungry bodybuilder. My best option now is to hand in my Pro Card and return to amateur ranks so I can compete with any federation including Australia where I can represent BSc, - the more I think about this the better this option seems.
Over the last couple of months I have loved training to the point where I would train over anything else. I have loved it so so much and have been so totally motivated towards the New York event. I will take this month to dwell on things, sort out things in my own head and sort myself out. For now I am looking forward to charging ahead with my career and enjoying my life with Jordan who has just began intermediate school this week.

My boy Jordan who is off to Intermediate school now. almost 12 years old and 75 kgs.. and has muscles already..
I still have a goal for a photo shoot in chch which I will still do, so I will keep some size on and do that one. Tell you about that more in another update.
My video camera is in getting repaired right now so once that is back there will be regular vids here on site and I will teach you new exercises which have been tried out my myself and my clients. My son is revamping my site and it will be brilliant when finished, for my clients especially. I'm very excited about it.
Bye the way, I'm all ready for accepting bookings for muscle weekends. I take only one per month so if you want to get in while the weather is good, then book in with me. Price on application so drop me an email. Dont forget about PT training., You dont have to be a regular client to come and do a one on one with me. You are assured of a fantastic workout which will benefit you in the future as well. I have so much to teach.
Take care and be back soon.... not so long between updates next time I promise.
2010 - Im ready for ya
My 5 month goal -
To be accepted in the New York Pro
To be the best I can be - To be in the best shape of my competition career
and to promote NZ woman of any age in our sport - I dont set small goals do I?

Training has been awesome lately. We were like everybody who had to work around short hours in the gyms over the xmas period etc but its not that bad. If you make training your priority then you will get there. Still, we had some nice time off which meant into training with a vengence when we were there. My PB's are up which is absolutey awesome. Makes heading into the gym very exciting.. But I have had few sore joints lately, if its not a sore knee then it is sore back or something else. Still everything will settle down once we are back into very regular training, with a good clean structured diet - meaning 100% clean and abit more fat loss, less weight on the joints but I have been trying to put on some muscle size so I cant have it all ways.
Mark is training hard out. For someone who used to just train me or whoever was with us, he is now in hard training himself and everybody in the gym is having him on about his comeback to competition this year. Maybe - maybe not but I dont think so really. Quincy our training partner is putting on some good muscle. He's stronger than me now damn it in everything... well I think he always was but was just getting used to our training techniques so he pretended he was weaker. haha aye Quincy
